Listen to Much Better, Thank You´s Art Folk Rock

Part of The Picture feat. Fredrik Kinbom - Official Video / NEW

Part of The Picture is a song with maximum depth, a wave of imaginary images and emotionality. The arrangement seems to float. A repetitive guitar motif is surrounded by beguiling steel guitar slides. In addition, Heidi's singing between deep psychosis and enchanting beauty.

Glorious Days - Official Video

Of course, all of our songs contain the full spectrum of Much Better, Thank You - which means that no song the way it was conceived at home makes it onto the album.
Once the idea for a piece has been born, the result is taken to the rehearsal room and it doesn't matter whether it's just a few handwritten chords scrawled ...

Circle of Light - Official Video

During the lockdown, Much Better, Thank You have not been idle. Rehearsing wasn't really possible, but in January 2021 the band stayed in the studio for one day to realize an urgent project: a new song, dedicated to a friend and loyal fan from Bramsche's twin town Todmorden, who is suffering from MND. We are in contact, have sent messages, but the severity   ...

The House is Moving - Official Video

The title track of the new Much Better, Thank You album starts in the living room, at least that's how the intro sounds, played on a lonely, dry acoustic guitar. Impatient people might switch off again here, but it is worth holding out. Timid, first searching, then clear and powerful, a violin joins in, then an electric guitar. 40 seconds pass before ...

Lullaby - Official Video

The song is a lullaby for a refugee´s child.
Already written in 2007, it was terribly topical again in 2015 and finally recorded in spring 2016. The acoustic guitar carries steadily cal mly through this waltz. The drums kick in, lonely guitar tones lay over them, the violin picks them up and intensifies them. The singing begins like a lullaby should be  ...

Hot Deal - Official Video

The song deals critically with the textile industry, or with the question of how textiles are "consumed", although the circumstances under which large parts of our clothing are produced are actually well known. The impulse for the song was a few years ago: In the fire in a textile factory in Bangladesh. The song itself is only indirectly about the fire; rather, it is about ...

Does surveillance protect us? Is it harming us?
The fear of too much surveillance is omnipresent, while at the same time using social media is quite careless. But thanks to Covid 19, we also leave our traces in the non-digital world when we have to provide our contact details when visiting restaurants, concerts and museums. What do we ...

Who´s MBTY

MBTY wonder about the label ART FOLK, tell you about techno as part of their influences as well as classical music and what´s special about the band. Meet them in the studio while recording in 2018.

The typical Much Better, Thank You song includes variations in time as well as mood, but actually we love to waltz. You can call the lyric soprano, Heidi´s remarkable voice, as elfish, extraordinary or expressive, as you will find it changing between fragile and punchy. Underlined by diversified guitars, which suddenly start to cry and weep, and other instruments like bass clarinet or 5-string violin - the diversity of sounds expands with every new song.

This is really independent, though the songs will catch you from the first tune.

Unusual, but for sure - never boring.

    News

In autumn 2020 we received a letter from England and seldom in our lifes have we been told or written anything that affected us as much, touched us so much and at the same time led to emotional confusion.

Of course - if it is somehow feasible, we will comply with this request.

Meanwhile we recorded a new, comforting song so that it can definitely be played, even if it shouldn't be possible for us to travel to the UK.

    Insights

... felt like there was only bad news. Lots of crazy heads of state who, it feels like, only aim to undermine the understanding of democracy and the idea of solidarity - on which my worldview has manifested itself over decades - in their countries. We in Germany have a blue-right party that tries to imitate them and - at least in 2019 - found more and more supporters. I find that horrible and repulsive and I am unable to understand it. This is what `The House is Moving´ is all about.
